Occupational Therapy

• Occupational therapists work with children and adults with acquired conditions such as stroke or spinal cord injury, with mental health issues, or with congenital illnesses such as cerebral palsy or spina bifida, among other disorders. • Occupational therapists aim to facilitate independence in daily ‘occupations’, such as self-care, work, financial management, leisure pursuits and education. • This is fully incorporated into the degree so graduates are eligible to register with CORU (the regulatory body for health and social care professionals in Ireland) and become members of AOTI (the professional body for occupational therapists in Ireland).
