Agriculture and Environmental Management

Employment in the area of farm planning and farm advisory services is rapidly growing. Graduates of the honours degree in Agriculture and Environmental Management meet the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine educational qualification requirements for FAS / GLAS advisors. GMIT honours (Level 8) qualifications are recognised worldwide for postgraduate entry. Note: There is an industrial work placement in year two. This course is recognised by the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine for eligibility to register as farm advisors under the Farm Advisory System (FAS). Graduates of the honours degree may apply to the Teaching Council for assessment to teach Agricultural Science at secondary level.
